LAHORE: The city Police, after hectic efforts, have succeeded in recovering Shahid Sethi, a local industrialist from the clutches of kidnappers here from a house at Johar Town and arrested two armed persons in this regard.

The kidnappers had demanded an amount of Rs.300,000 dollars as ransom for his release after they abducted him on April 15 from Gulberg.

The DIG, Police Lahore Range, Tariq Pervaiz and SSP Lahore Ch. Sajjad Ahmad in a hurriedly called press conference disclosed that four persons in police uniform had stopped the car of Shahid Sethi on the pretext to check his car later they took him to an unknown place on their own car with police number plate.

The DIG said that the police today received a telephone call that Shahid Sethi has been kept in a house at Johar Town area but did not reveal the actual address of the house where the abductee was detained.

The DIG said that over 2,000 policemen under the command of SP, Model Town, conducted a thorough search of every house at Johar Town and at last managed to recover Shahid Sethi from a posh bungalow where he was detained in a room. The police broke open the door of the room and got him released. The DIG, however, remained tightliped about the identity of the culprits, adding that the prior identification of the criminals will hamper the investigation.-APP
