Firm posture on Jodia Bazar
RECORDER REPORT
KARACHI: Jodia Bazar maintained firm posture on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha on Saturday. Trading however took place in commodities taking to downside.
Poor attendance was reported as a number of bosses their and employees left for interior Sindh and Punjab.
Majority of shops in Jodia Bazar will remain closed on Sunday. Some of the shops dealing in essential stuff such as kirana and dry fruits will open for half day.
Declines continued on the milk powder sector as traders reported overnight drop in enquiries: Skimmed (per bag of 25 kgs) Nur Pur turned further lower by Rs 25, Lithuania dropped Rs 20, Poland dropped Rs 25 and Farmer Jack Rs 50. Full cream instant Green Flag and Adlac both eased by Rs 25.
Plastic mouldings under most heads maintained steady undertone but under HDPF film tipelin 470 lose by Rs 1.25, Mobil HTA-001 up Rs 1.50, Korea 3080 stronger by Rs 1.40 and Ladene 00952 up Rs 1.60.
Chemicals were mixed: Caustic soda flakes Saudi up Rs 2, caustic soda solid quoted at Rs 32, DOP quoted of Rs 79.20, Oxalic acid China up Re 1, sodium hydrosulphite China up Rs 3.30, Sitara caustic soda up Re one, acitic acid Taiwan and Korea were quoted of Rs 61.60 each, hydrogen peroxide 35 percent Taiwan quoted of Rs 24.20 and Korea and Thailand quoted at Rs 24 each.
Kirana items were generally higher: White pepper up Rs 600, white pepper Singapore lost Rs 100, white pepper from Singapore shed Rs 250, black pepper gave in Rs 100, cloves shed Rs 50, poppyseed up Rs 40, Isbeghol ki bhoosi up Rs 50, cuminseed dropped Rs 300, darchini Rs 100, tamarind ghanta dropped Rs 25 and pistachio gained Rs 60.
