for sacrificial

animals

Lahore: Veterinary experts have advised the people to take care of animal feed to avoid diarrhoea,gastro- enteritis and chances of death of their sacrificial animals.

Secretary, Livestock and Dairy Development Department,Punjab,Chaudhary Mohammad Shafi Gill told to APP on Sunday said that as Eid-ul-Azha was fast approaching and people were busy in buying the sacrificial animals from the market. It was very sad that after purchase the animals subjected to indiscriminate feeding, upsetting their stomach and getting sick.

He said palatable diet should be given to the animals instead of heavy diet like grains and for quite some time watering should also be avoided soon after feed.Breads and fungus diet should never be given as it results in food poisoning which ultimately causes tympany or bloat and gastro-enteritis.
