Croatian ambassador denies Bosnia carve-up plan
LONDON: Zagreb's ambassador to Britain denied on Wednesday that Croatia had a tacit agreement with Serbia to carve up Bosnia between them.
In a letter to the Times newspaper, Ante Sicin-Sain denied reports a secret deal had been made between Croatian President Franjo Tudjman and his Serbian counterpart Slobodan Milosevic.
"Let me state in my own name and on behalf of the Croatian government that neither President Tudjman not the Croatian government have any secret plans to either "carve up' Bosnia or to renounce Croatia's legitimate aim to reintegrate its territory in Eastern Slavonia which is currently occupied by Chetnik Serb forces," Cicin-Sain wrote.
Several newspapers earlier this week pictured a map scribbled on a menu that showed Bosnia cut in two by an S-shaped line. -Reuter
