Architects

advised to get

excise licences

KARACHI: Superintendent, Central Excise Services, Afzaluddin Kadri has advised local architects and house planners to obtain a Central Excise Licence from Collectorate, Central Excise City Division, Karachi.

Through a communication the Registrar, Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners was informed that following approval of Finance Bill 1995 all architects and town planners operating in Pakistan would require to obtain Central Excise Licence.

Under the present arrangements the only competent authority to issue" licence "to the practicing architecture and town planners is "The Assistant Collector-Central Excise".

"All other authorities previously issuing so called licences become redundant/obsolete upon approval of Finance Bill 1995 by the National Assembly", the communication adds.-APP
