Increase in grant

of benevolent

fund proposed

ISLAMABAD: The department of Federal Employees Benevolent Fund and Group Insurance has proposed the increase the grant of benevolent fund from Rs 480/- (presently admissible) to Rs. 700/- (maximum) in case of Government employees from Grade 1-16 and Rs. 5200/- (maximum) instead of Rs. 1620/-as presently paid in case of grade 17-22.

This was stated by Managing Director of the Department of Federal Employees Benevolent Fund and Group Insurance, Zaheer Sajjad while briefing the Senate Standing Committee on Establishment. The meeting was chaired by Senator Makhdoom Hamid Raza Gillani, here on Tuesday.

The Senate Committee was also informed that in case of the Government employees working in Grade 1-15, group insurance is paid by the government itself.

Matters pertaining to the organizational structure and performance of the Department and welfare projects undertaken by it came under detailed discussion during the meeting.

The Committee stressed upon the need of finding ways and means of increasing grants to the Government employees and their families in case of prolonged sickness or death.

The meeting was also attended by Senator Abdul Rahim Mandokhel, Malik Mohammad Hayat Khan, Malik Hakimeen Khan and Hafiz Fazal Mohammad alongwith the concerned officers of Establishment Division.-APP
