Bombay sugar
prices slip
BOMBAY: Sugar prices eased as consumer demand turned sluggish at improved levels and volumes were thin, dealers said.
"Trading remained at low ebb because of a day-long strike by loaders in the market," one broker said.
Ready S-30 slipped by 10-20 rupees per quintal to 1,235/1,260 and M-30 suffered a similar loss to 1,275/1,350 rupees per quintal. Sugar mill delivery shed 5-10 rupees per quintal to 1,170/1,180 on increased offerings by mills.
"Overall sentiment was subdued as demand was lower than expected," said a dealer.-Reuter
