JAKARTA: The Indonesian rupiah was little changed against the dollar in slow late trading, dealers said.

One dealer with a foreign bank said the rupiah was likely to hover at 2,236.50/38.00 on Tuesday, with liquidity seen not as tight as it was in early trading on Monday.

Bank Indonesia drained some 224 billion rupiah from the market this morning, tightening liquidity, brokers said.

Dealers said the rupiah remained little changed despite the central bank raising its fixing rate to 2,237.0/81.0 from 2,236/80.0.

Spot dollars were last at 2,237.00/36.10 compared with 2,236.75/37.75 at the open. Tomorrow dollars were at 2,235.90/36.10.

Today dollars closed at 2,234.50/34.90.

Tom/next swap was at 0.9/1.1.
