Abedi's death

KARACHI: The Board of Directors of HBL in its meeting chaired by Mohammad Younus Dalia, held at Habib Bank Plaza, expressed their profound grief on the sad demise of Agha Hasan Abedi, who had started his banking career with Habib Bank in 1946.

Mohammad Younus Dalia, President of Habib Bank while presiding over the Board meeting highlighted the services of late Abedi while he worked with Habib Bank and later on when he established UBL and subsequently former BCCI. He said that Agha Hasan Abedi was a genius and had introduced many innovative banking schemes. His far sightedness, vision and banking acumen was accepted internationally. His contribution to the banking industry in Pakistan and abroad will be long remembered.

The Board lauded Abedi's social, educational and humanitarian services not only rendered in Pakistan but also in the Third World countries. Fateha was also offered for this great banker.-PR
