Dedressal of billing complaints
PTC to post marketing
officers at customer
service centres
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunications Corporation (PTC) has decided to post marketing officers at the existing 90 customer services centres who will be responsible to redress the public billing complaints and other allied issues. These officers will be highly educated, well-versed with the corporate behaviour and marketing discipline.
This was disclosed in the PTC general managers conference held here on Sunday under the chairmanship of Mian Muhammad Javaid Chairman PTC. The conference was attended apart from others, by hgih-ups of Pak Telecom Authority, general managers from all over the country and officers of billing and accounts divisions. The Chairman PTC, Mian Muhammad Javaid while highlighting the day to day problems faced by subscribers, stressed the need for providing immediate relief to them.
For achieving this objective, he directed to upgrade the hard and software systems and fully equip the customer services centres with relevant educated, trained and courteous staff. Furthermore, he directed the general managers to dispose off all pending cases of wrong excessive billing within one month time.
He also directed to install a Universal Access Number (UAN) at the customer services centres so that the subscribers can avail the larger opportunity of communicating and redressal of their grievances. For prompt disposal of complaints and providing personal attention to the subscribers the general managers were directed by the chairman to depute one divisional engineer alongwith an accounts officer to be present on duty till midnight who could help expeditious rectification as well.
Envisaging the fast expansion of telephone network in the country, it was also decided that PTC will establish computer centres in five major cities namely Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Gujranwala and Sialkot whereas to facilitate the preparation and correction of telephone bills, Jhelum and Sargodha will have electric data processing centres.-PPI
