KARACHI: Nine people were killed in different acts of violence in the city on Sunday.

Body of Mohammad Shahid, a guard of Mansoor Chacha's brother Masroor was found lying in the bushes behind Deaf and Dumb School near Purani Numaish in Lines Area. The body bore marks of torture and bullets.

The news of his murder like a wild fire in the area which echoed with firing. Shops in the area remained closed.

Faiz Mohammad was injured in sniper firing in Lines Area. He was admitted to JPMC.

Saeed Zahid Akhtar was killed in a firing incident in Liaquatabad area. His body was removed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

A bullet-riddled dead body of a 25-year-old unidentified man was recovered from a parked car in Orangi Town. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Mohammad Saeed, Senior Police Clerk, was killed in targeted firing in Orangi Town No 10. His body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

A 50-year-old man was killed in sniper firing near Tasvir Mahal Cinema in Korangi. The body was removed to JPMC.

Yet another unidentified body was found lying near Kalakot police station. It was kept at Edhi mortuary for identification.

A body packed in a gunny bag with hands tied, was found in a Suzuki Hi-Roof on Hussain D'Silva Road in Ghanchi Para. The deceased was reported to be about 30 years old.

Mohammad Qasim was injured when his own revolver went off accidentally in Clifton area. Mahmood sustained bullet injuries in an incident in Brigade police station area. Shaukat Quadry was injured in sniper firing in Baldia Town.

Two unidentified bodies were found from Khwaja Ajmair Nagri and Shah Faisal Colony.

PPI ADDS: Meanwhile, Karachi police on Sunday rounded up 76 persons allegedly involved in different crimes from various localities of city and recovered illegal weapons, narcotics and stolen properties from their possession.

According to police sources, those arrested include 24 from District South, 17 from East, 25 from West, Seven from Central and three from Malir, 28 of them were booked for breach of peace, 19 were held for their involvement in miscelleneous crimes whereas 10 accused were arrested while gambling from Nabi Bakhsh police station area.

Police arrested accused identified as Rafaqat, Yousuf, Manzoor Ali, Altaf, Fida Hussain, Riaz, Nadim, and three other persons possessing three klashnikovs, 6 pistols one revolver and many rounds whereas 830 grams of charas and 12 grams of heroin powder was recovered from the possession of accused identified as Mohammad Ali Abdul Aziz and six others. Police also recovered 100 begs of stolen rice from an accused. Police registered against them and further investigations are under progress.
