FPCCI plans
liaison office
in Taiwan
KARACHI: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) is planning to set up its liaison office in Taiwan, which would be instrumental in promoting bilateral economic and commercial relations between the two countries.
This was stated by the Vice-Chairman of Group-77 Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tariq Sayeed in a meeting with the Taiwanese Minister for Economic Affairs, T.K. Chung at Taiwan.
According to a message received here on Sunday, Sayeed informed the Taiwanese minister about holding the G-77 conference, to be held in Lahore from Noveember 6 to 8, 1995.
He also inforrmed Chung, who is also Secretary General, China External Trade Development Council (CETRA) that Pakistan offers a very conducive investment climate.
Sayeed invited the Taiwanese entrepreneurs to invest in Pakistan either through joint ventures or hundred percent equity.
During the discussion, the Taiwanese minister revealed that Taiwan has been making massive investment in Asia and South Asia. He said uptill now they have invested $7.7 billion in Indonesia, $7.0 billion in Malaysia, $6.0 billion in Thailand, $3.2 billion in Vietnam, $1.0 billion in Philippines and $23 billion in China.-APP
