LAHORE: PPP organizational matters relating to its Lahore branch were discussed at some length at a high level meeting in the state guest house, Lahore on Sunday morning.

The meeting was presided over by Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, who is also PPP Chairperson, and attended among others by party's Secretary General Senator Rafiq Ahmad Shaikh, PPP Punjab President and Provincial Housing, Physical and Environmental Planning Minister Malik Mushtaq Ahmad Awan, Lahore PPP zonal president and other office-bearers.

PML (J) Chief Hamid Nasir Chatha called on the prime minister in the afternoon and had informal discussion on matters of mutual interest at lunch.

Chatha along with Punjab Governor Lt-General (Retd) Raja Saroop Khan were also present when the prime minister met editors and columnists of local newspapers for more than a month and discussed with them matters of national importance. However Chatha had left early to keep some other commitment.

The prime minister had too with the NWFP Governor, Punjab and Balochistan chief ministers and Sindh minister after presiding over National Highway Council meeting before her flying back to Islamabad after two days' stay in the provincial metropolis and was seen off by the Punjab Governor and Chief Minister and senior officials.
