ADBP body meets

to speed up

loan recovery

KARACHI: A meeting of the committee on recovery of agricultural credit constituted by the Agricultural Credit Advisory Committee (ACAC) of the State Bank of Pakistan headed by Badruddin Zahidi, Chairman ADBP was held here on Sunday to look into the causes of unsatisfactory pace of recovery of agricultural loans in the country and suggest measures to improve and accelerate recovery of outstanding agricultural loans.

The Federal Government is giving top priority to the recovery of agricultural loans in order to channellise the recovered amount for credit to other needy farmers for developmental purposes paving the way of self-sufficiency of the country in food.

The committee members included Badruddin Zahidi, Chairman Agricultural Development Bank of Pakistan, as chairman of the committee with Syed Qamruzzaman Shah of Sindh Chamber of Agriculture, President, National Bank of Pakistan, R.A. Chughtai, Executive Director, State Bank of Pakistan, Abdul Muqtadar Kazi, SVP, Pakistan Banking Council and senior member of the Board of Revenue of all the four provinces as members. A.K. Khan, Executive Director (Recovery) of ADBP acted as secretary of the committee on recovery.
