LAHORE: Due to poor law and order situation in Karachi, over 4000 tractors imported under the green tractors scheme were lying uncleared at Port Qasim.

"Under the scheme, letters of credit were opened for 20,000 tractors out of which 10,000 were cleared but 4000 are lying stuck-up at Port Qasim due to poor law and order situation in Karachi, while the remaining are in shipments," ADBP Chairman, Badr-Uddin Zahidi said in an interview.

He said that for the speedy recovery of loans, government had established more banking tribunals. "There is a proposall under which a time limit would be fixed for the Banking Tribunal to decide the cases", he disclosed.

On the recovery situation, he said that in the past it was about 61 percent which has now slowed down to 58.1 percent.
