CBOT rice falls

CHICAGO: Long liquidation and spillover selling from other pits pressed CBOT rice futures to a lower close, traders said on Friday.

"We were down on long liquidation mainly, kind of a floorwide fall here," a trader said.

Underlying support continues for a respectable export lineup and on ongoing concern about the fate of China's crop in view of reports of torrential rainfall and floods.

Rice closed three to eight cents per cwt lower, with September down eight at $8.21 per cwt. -Reuter
