CAA defers
blockade of PIA's
plane parking
facility
ISLAMABAD: The Civil Aviation Authority has held abeyance its earlier decision to disallow Pakistan International Airline's Boeing 737 aircraft to park at the airports in the country.
It was learnt that the implementation of the decision has temporarily been suspended after PIA had offered to resolve the issue through negotiations.
The CAA had taken the decision due to non-payment of over one billion rupees by the PIA.
It was appeared in a section of the press that the CAA had decided to adopt a tough strategy to recover dues of over one billion rupees from the PIA under which the authority will withdraw parking facilities for PIA's 737 aircraft in first phase.
The report had stated that the PIA will have to pay the charges for landing and take off at all the airports twenty hours in advance otherwise, the air traffic controllers will not allow PIA planes to either land or take off.-PPI
