Beg opposes
mid-term polls
QUETTA: Mirza Aslam Beg, former Chief of the Army Staff and President, Awami Qiyadat Party, has opposed mid-term polls and said that elected governments should complete their tenure.
Talking to reporters at his party's provincial office soon after his arrival here on Wednesday from Islamabad on a 3-day visit he said his party was ready to participate in the polls as and when these are held. But, he added, there is the least chance of mid-term polls in the country.
Referring to government MQM talks for peace in Karachi, he said that there would not be any positive outcome of the talks as both the government and the MQM are not serious.
The former COAS pleaded for the inclusion of others living in Sindh in the ongiong government-MQM talks for the resolution of Karachi's problems.-PPI
