KCCI expresses
deep anguish over
rise in dacoities
KARACHI: Ahmed A. Sattar, President, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Karachi (KCCI) has expressed his deep anguish over the growing number of cases of dacoities, especially in the commercial and industrial areas.
He said that in most of the cases jewellery shops have been made target which has been a perpetual source of harassment and colossal financial losses, according to a press release.
The Chamber chief lamented that in some cases, the dacoits have not spared the life of the house inmate.
He said that on Wednesday, Aslam Shaikh, Secretary, Bridge Federation and a close relative of one of our former presidents, was brutally killed by the dacoits. He expressed his heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family.
Sattar remarked that despite taking some corresponding measures, no respite in dacoities and theft have been witnessed, with the consequence that an element of fear and anxiety continues to loom large on trade circles.
He urged that the provincial government and law enforcing agencies to tighten up security measures in markets specially around jewellery shops.
