LAHORE: Chairman Banking Tribunal Ashiq Hussain Bokhari has called two families of Ittefaq clan to indentify their signatures on the guarantee deeds furnished to the banks by the Ittefaq Group for obtaining loans.

According to the counsel for the petitioners, Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, bank guarantees had been furnished by the present administration of Brothers Steels, Ittefaq Foundries and Ramzan Sugar Mills with the signatures of the petitioners - Ilyas family and Meraj family - for obtaining loans.

Representatives of both the families appeared before the court and denied their signatures terming them forged and fake, saying they had not been allowed to participate in the affairs of the companies since long.

Mansoor Ali Shah, the petitioners' counsel, had earlier submitted that present respondents had themselves signed these documents in the names of the said families.
