Ban on Pager,

Mobile phones,

challenged

in SHC

KARACHI: On behalf of President Pasban Karachi Usman Moazzam, advocate Muzaffarul Haq has filed a petition in the Sindh High Court against the government's ban on pager, mobile phone and tele-card services, says a press release issued here on Thursday.

The petition mentioned that these telecommunication services were the basic right of people which has been seized by the authorities. It termed the said ban unlawful and unreasonable.

The Pasban leader requested the High Court through the petition to instruct the government and Karachi administration to restore these services.

Secretary, Minister for Telecommunication Islamabad, Chairman Pakistan Telecom Corporation Islamabad, Managing Director Pak Telecommunication and Managing Director Digital Pager Company were made respondents in the petition.-PPI
