LAHORE: The rupee's rising trend was maintained on Thursday at the foreign exchange counter. It further improved against most of the currencies.

It opened four paisa above its overnight closing in terms of the US Dollar at Rs.32.38 and closed at Rs.32.36, losing eight paisa in kerb trading.

The Rupee maintained its rising trend against the other currencies including the Pound Sterling, Duetsch mark, Saudi riyal, and UAE dirham.

Local dealers expect this trend to continue because with the entry of the bulls in the stock market, local investors are attracted toward the rising stock market and are liquidating their foreign exchange holdings to invest in stocks, a local dealer said.
