ISLAMABAD: As many as 50,000 Kashmiri men, women and children have been mercilessly slaughtered in Indian occupied Kashmir during the last six years.

This was stated by Senator Raja Zafarul Haq, Leader of the Opposition in the Senate and Secretary General, Motamar Al-Alam Al-Islami in a letter to the leaders of Muslim Parliamentarians who are attending the First Conference of Muslim women Parliamentarians in the Federal Capital.

For the past six year, when the people of Kashmir which is a predominantly Muslim area, boycotted elections of the Indian Parliament and started a fresh movement for the realization of their avowed objective, of deciding for themselves, the future of their area, as pledged to them by unanimous resolutions of the United Nations, a reign of terror has been let loose on them, it added.

He said that within these six years over 50,000 men, women and children have been mercilessly slaughtered, still a greater number is incarcerated in various jails. thousands of women have been subjected to organized gang-rapes and large number of young men have been killed, while in custody. Thousands of houses have been burnt down to suppress the spirit of freedom through the presence of over 600,000 Indian Army personnel in that area, the letter further added.

Welcoming the women parliamentarian to a historic gathering Raja Zafarul Haq said in such condition women are naturally the worst affected in held valley and they deserve your sympathies and support.
