Grand display of

arms, equipments

on Defence Day

KARACHI: A grand display of arms and equipments will be held at Old Race Course behind Karachi Cantonment Railway Station on September 6.

The day-long display will be open to general public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., ISPR sources said here on Tuesday.

The arms and equipments to be displayed include missiles, tanks, armoured personnel carriers (APCs), artillery and air defence guns, radar, helicopters, engineers' and signals' equipment.

Other events highlighting professional competence of the troops include quick action by artillery guns, bayonet fighting by infantry jawans wearing combat dress and display of martial arts by troops.

Special arrangements have also been made for a briefing at equipments and weapons stalls to acquaint the public about their role and functions, the ISPR sources further said.

They said, children would be encouraged to have a ride on tanks and armoured personnel carriers throughout the day. Brass and pipe bands of the Army units would perform popular national songs and martial tunes, the sources added.-APP
