Karachi Issue

RAWALPINDI: Naib Amir Jamaat-e-Islami, Prof. Ghafoor Ahmed has stressed the need for an all parties conference on Karachi issue to find ways and means to restore law and order in Sindh province.

Addressing at a "Meet the Press" programme, orgainzed by Rawalpindi Press Club, here on Tuesday, he emphasized the early solution of the burning issue of Karachi which was of utmost significance for the integrity an solidarity of the country.

Prof. Ghafoor was of the view that delay in restoring law and order in Karachi has compelled the political parties for raising demand of mid-term elections in the country.

Besides law and order, the citizens of Karachi were also facing un-employment, price-hike, anxiety and poverty, he added.

An international conspiracy is being hatched to separate Karachi, therefore, he urged, the nation should rise above the petty differences and forge unity among their ranks to foil this conspiracy.

He expressed concern over the remarks of Ajmal Dehlvi, the head of the negotiating team of Altaf Group that India could come to help Muhajirs in Karachi.

Acts of committing murders have become a routine matter in Karachi where bodies of innocent people are being sent packed in bags by terrorists, Professor Ghafoor added.

He said, currently the Rangers, Police and Army personnel were that target of terrorists and even on Aug 14, a navy jawan was shot dead at Mazar-e-Quaid.-APP
