KARACHI: Managing Director, PIA, Air Vice Marshal Farooq Umar, was unanimously elected Chairman, Pakistan Asia Travel Association (Pakistan Chapter) during its Annual General Meeting held in Karachi.

Khawaja Ayaz (Pakistan Ministry of Tourism) was elected as Vice President followed by Zia. J. Shirazi (Trade and Management Services) and Riaz A. Khan (Columbus Travels) as Secretary and Treasurer.

PATA (Pakistan Chapter) has been twice honoured by the parent body of PATA for its outstanding performance with regard to provide professional services and opportunities for the development and promotion of air service in Asia Pacific.

Pakistan Chapter has been awarded the Chapter Excellence Award 1995 besides the Support to PATA Programmes Award 1994.-APP
