HYDERABAD: The Chairman of Sindhi Language Authority (SLA), Hyderabad, Dr. Nabi Bakhsh Qazi has said that compilation and publication of an encyclopaedia of Sindh in Sindhi, Urdu and English was under the active consideration of the authority.

Addressing his first press conference after assuming the office of the chairman of authority in April this year, the internationally acknowledged scholar of Persian, Arabic and Sindhi, said, that later on an encyclopaedia cell will also be established and noted scholars will be invited to write articles on history, geography, archaeology, literature, personalities, culture and all other aspects of Sindh province.

Explaining the future programmes of the authority, Dr. Qazi said that Sindhi to English, English to Sindhi, Urdu to Sindhi, Sindhi to Urdu, Persian to Sindhi and Sindhi to Persian dictionaries will also be published.

He said that authority has also decided to undertake an exercise in simplifying the method of teaching Sindhi in the schools.

He said, the authority had, therefore, decided to hold Sindhi language classes for non-Sindhi speaking citizens and added that the Sindh Chief Minister had already declared that non-Sindhi government employees will get one advance increment if they volunteered to attend Sindhi language classes.
