KARACHI: Sales planning was the topic of the day when the course participants of update in sales and marketing arranged by APNS met on Monday afternoon.
Publisher Engineering Review, Najmul Hasan with 32 years of sales and marketing experience spoke on the subjects. In an informal tone, he guided the participants through markets prections Najmul Hasan emphasized to promote a culture of pre-planning for the success of a sales effort. He asked people to plan daily weekly, monthly and long term profits bi-annually.
To support a salesmen's efforts his company should also contribute. For the purpose Najmul Hasan asked newspaper organizations to have a proper media kit. The media kit should contain all possible and true information about the publication. At the session he distributed media kit of Engineering Review.
He suggested marketing persons to set certain targets. He believed it would help convince the advertisers plus good service, courtesy, punctuality, confidence and proper know-how of their own company also helps greatly to win the customer, he said and added it all comes with proper planning only.
All the participants comfortably questioned and discussed the issues related to sales planning. As a result of the debate it was noted that English Press is stronger on marketing side as compared to its Urdu counterpart. Participants also agreed that competition is essential to progress ahead.
