Ghabid fears
Gorazde's fate
after pull out
ISLAMABAD: The Secretary General of OIC, Dr. Hamid Alghabid, has expressed concern over the decision taken by the UN to pull out its peace-keeping forces from the UN designated safe haven of Gorazde as its could result in Serbian aggression on the UN enclave.
According to a message received here on Sunday from Jeddah, while noting the commitment of the major Western nations to defend Gorazde with Nato air power, the Secretary General has observed that the modalities for protecting Gorazde appear to be unclear.
He has, therefore, emphasized the need for credible and effective Nato air strikes, to counter any Serbian military offensive in the Gorazde enclave. He also called on the international community to ensure the safety and welfare of the civil population in Gorazde.-APP
