Calls on Waseem
Bosnian envoy
lauds Pakistan's
support, help
to refugees
ISLAMABAD: The outgoing Ambassador of Bosnia-Herzegovina to Pakistan, Mrs. Sadzida Silajdzic paid a farewelll calll on Chairman Senate, Waseem Sajjad, in the Parliament House, here on Sunday.
Mrs. Sadzida Silajdzic thanked the people of Pakistan for supporting the just cause of Bosnia-Herzegovina. She said that her government wanted to have good relations with all countries, particularly with Pakistan where people were very sineere and had great love and affection for their Bosnian brothers.
She disclosed that Bosnia-Herzegovina had so far established diplomatic relations with 25 countries and Pakistan was the first country with whom it had established ties at diplomatic level. She recalled that the way the Bosnian refugees were welcomed and the treated both by the Government and the people of Pakistan was really praiseworthy.
Chairman Senate, Waseem Sajjad appreciated the role played by Ambassador Sadzida Silajdzic in promoting and cementing the brotherly relations between the two Muslim countries. He said that greater cooperation in the economic and other fields could be beneficiall for the brotherly people of the two countries.
He agreed with the outgoing Bosnian envoy that there was vast scope for strengthening and expanding the cooperation. He hoped that both sides would explore the possibilities for setting up of joint ventures in the fields of textile and medicines.-APP
