TIUB leaders
bailed out
PESHAWAR: In the backdrop of agreement between political authorities of Khyber Agency and the tribal Maliks, all the detained leaders of Tanzeem Ittehad-e-Ulema Bara (TIUB) including its Chief Maulana Abdul Hadi were bailed out on Saturday.
Those who have been released on bail included Maulana Abdul Wadud, Khalilur Rahman, Mustameem and Khan Afzal while three of the detainees have already been released by the authorities concerned.
They were arrested by the police early this month while coming back from Murree on the charge of carrying unlicensed arms.
Addressing the protesting tribemen in Nallah Khwar area soon after his release, Maulana Abdul Hadi alleged that the political administration of Khyber Agency had lodged fake cases against him.
He said, "my unconditional release proves that I was innocent", he remarked.
In order to workout modalities for the implementation of agreement reached between the political authorities and the tribal Maliks on Friday night, a follow up meeting was held at the office of Political Agent Khyber Agency on Saturday.
According to the agreement, the tribal would be required to maintain law and order in Bara through their Jirga system and hand over the proclaimed offenders, drug traffickers, car lifters, outlaws to the political administration. There would be no public or jail punishment, it said and added that tribal people would have to maintain sanctity of the road.
Tribal Maliks have welcomed the release of Maulana Hadi on bail and termed it a good step which according to them would certainly restore normalcy in the tense Bara.-APP
