13 killeed as

trailler rammed

into coach

ISLAMABAD: At least 13 persons were killed when an over-speeding flying coach on way to Rawalpindi from Manshera, collided with a National Logistic Cell (NLC) trailer on Hasanabdal-Haripur road on Saturday.

According to the Wah Cantt police, the flying coach (IDD1411) met with the accident when the trailer, (8595-43), which too was over-speeding, tried to avert ramming into an on-coming bus.

When the trailer moved to a side, the passenger coach collided with it, killing nine persons on the spot.

The injured were immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital Taxila and POF Wah Hospital by the passerbyes. At least four injured succumbed to the injuries on way to the hospital.

Out of those treated at the hospital most of them were discharged after first aid but eight were admitted to the hospital.

Police said the driver of the coach managed to escape while the driver of the NLC trailer also could not be arrested.

PESHAWAR: The NWFP Governor, Maj. Gen (Rtd) Khurshid Ali Khan and Chief Minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao have expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the road accident.

The governor and chief minister NWFP in their separate condolence messages have expressed their heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved families and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls.

The hospital administration have also been directed to take care of the injured passengers and provide them maximum threatment facilities for their early recovery.-APP
