Kohl to visit Russia

MOSCOW: German Chancellor Helmut Kohl will pay a working visit to Russia on September 2 and 3 for talks with Russian President Boris Yeltsin, a presidential spokesman said on Friday.

The spokesman did not say what would be the main topic of discussion. The two leaders have regular telephone discussions over the crisis in former Yugoslavia.

Both Russia, which is close to the Orthodox Slav Serbs, and Germany, which has good relations with Croatia, are members of the five-nation Contact Group trying to find a solution to the protracted conflict.-Reuter
