Diamonds sell
WASHINGTON: The U.S. Defense National Stockpile Center said it sold 222,919 carats of surplus industrial diamonds to two bidders for an average $4.4845 per carat.
Awards went to:
U.S. Diamond Cutters, New York, 35,400 carats for $222,298.
Moonlight Gems, Antwerp, Belgium, 187,519 carats for $777,378.28.
Bids were opened August 11.-Reuter
