Bullion weaker
NEW YORK: COMEX gold was weaker but holding to a narrow range in quiet midday trade, receiving little direction from subdued trade in the silver market, traders said.
One floor source noted that a sizable volume of sell stops was thought waiting below $386.30 an ounce in the December contract, although he doubted the market would make a try for them today.
At 1210 EDT, December gold was off $0.40 at $387.50 an ounce, traded narrowly between $388.20 and $387.20.
Dealers quoted bullion at $382.60/$383.10.
Traders expected the market to remain quiet for the rest of the session ahead of a holiday Monday in London and Hong Kong.-Reuter
