Apostci
indifferent
toward
trader's strike
KARACHI: All Pakistan Organisation of Small Traders and Cottage Industries (Apostci) has expressed its indifference towards the two day strike call given by the Federation of small trade group organizations.
A nine member delegation of Apostci led by its Chairman, Mohammad Umer Sailiya which called on the Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Abdullah Shah here on Friday cited the strategy as a pressure tactic for resolution of problems, which they termed as undermocratic and unconstitutional.
During its meeting the Apostici Chiarman, Mohammad Sailiya apprised the chief minister about the genuine problems of trader community and expressed gratitude for the considerate stance adopted by the government towards the 20 points agenda, earlier presented by the Apostici.
Sailiya said since 17 points of the 20 points agenda have already been accepted by the government, while for the three remaining points government has assured of a sympathetic attitude thus resorting to pressure tactics would be inappropriate on part of FPCCI.
"It is uncalled for to agitate when the government and traders are in constant touch with each other", he said adding "matters need to be amicably resolved".
On the occasion the Sindh Chief Minister assured the delegation that he would recommend to concerned for early resolution of the remaining three points, specifically exclusion of school fees column from the Income Tax form (A-Type).
Syed Abdullah Shah also issued directive for expeditious disbursement of compensation to the affectees of Mohammad Ali Mansion, Bohri Bazar, where shops were gutted last year.
During the meeting the Apostci Secretary General, Zakir Bin Zahid also apprised the chief minister about the problems of small traders belonging to Hyderabad.
The small traders delegation assured the chief minister of their support in strengthening the democratic institutions of the province.
The delegation also comprised Bashir Minadad, Sahib Ali Shah, Naveed Sailiya, Mohammad Irfan, Mohammad Yousuf, Mohammad Khalid and Muffasir Malik.-APP
