Kharal condemns

attack on

BBC office

ISLAMABAD: Khalid Ahmed Khan Kharal, the Federal Information Minister, has condemned in the strongest terms the attack on BBC office here on Thursday.

Terming it as cowardly, the minister said that in a democratic society, everybody was free to express views and the society should have enough tolerance to live with criticism.

The Minister said this was more true of an Islamic society as Islam taught tolerance and forbearance.

The Minister said that all efforts would be made to bring the culprits to book. They will not be allowed to get away with such barbaric acts, the Minister added.

On coming to know of the incident, senior officers of the Information Ministry visited the BBC office to themselves see what had happened and to express sympathies.

Meanwhile, the Islamabad Police has provided security guards at the BBC office.-APP
