SINGAPORE: Asian dollar deposits were little changed in featureless trade. Dealers said most traders were sidelined ahead of tonight's release of the US weekly jobless claims and July durable goods data.

Weekly jobless claims for the week ended August 19, is forecast to be around 342,000 compared with 338,000 reported in the previous week. Durable goods figures for July are expected to show an increase of 0.8 percent against a decline of 0.3 percent in June.

"Rates were a little bit mixed in the morning amid uncertainty over market direction, but there was no fresh news," a local dealer said.

"All eyes are on tonight's jobless claims and durable goods figures, but unless the numbers are way off market expectations, I don't think there will be much impact here," he said.
