for financial and

marketing fields

LAHORE: Lt-Gen Humayun Khan Bangash, Corps Commander, Lahore, has said that we need effective leadership in domains of finance, marketing and industry to optimally manage the abundant physical and human resources that Pakistan is endowed and blessed with.

Speaking as chief guest at the 7th Graduation Ceremony of the Punjab College of Business Administration (PCBA) held at Al-Hamra here Thursday, he said the challenge of exploiting our potential to the fullest can only be met with astute scientific management. It is in this context, he said, we look towards PCBA to provide academically sound, prudent and dynamic business managers who will ultimately serve industry and contribute to this country's economic well-being and prosperity.

He said in cognizance of the fact that there exist only 22 universities in Pakistan, of which just 7 provide Degree Programmes in Business Administration, the emergence of PCBA as an institution committed to quality business education with steep educational standards, has not only filled the vacuum on the frontiers of managerial knowledge but also effectively checked the "Brain Drain Syndrome" whereby students from Pakistan who went to study abroad would opt to stay there after acquiring higher education.

Since at PCBA the bulk of the course work and academic requirements of the MBA as well as BBA degree are completed within Pakistan, at costs that are affordable given Pakistan's per capita income levels. This has also resulted in substantial savings of valuable foreign exchange for which Pakistan and PCBA should be applauded.-APP
