Indian copper slides, other base metals unchanged
BOMBAY: Copper prices moved down on sluggish physical demand while other base metals were steady, dealers said.
Copper fell by 50 rupees per quintal to 15,650 ($4,954 a tonne). It had shed 100 rupees on Tuesday. "Traders have been selling as they are expecting Hindustan Copper Ltd to reduce prices next month," a dealer said.
Tin was steady at 33,000 rupees a quintal ($10,446.3 a tonne). Nickel was quiet at 37,500 rupees a quintal ($11,870.8), zinc at 6,000 ($1,899) and lead at 3,500 ($1,107.9 a tonne).
