BD taka steady

against dollar

DHAKA: The taka closed at 40.1990/40.1995 to the dollar compared with a previous level of 40.1980/40.1995 in interbank trading, dealers said.

Dealers said the taka was a little firmer at 40.1970/40.1990 per dollar in early trading. But it later eased on higher demand for the dollar due to increased imports.

They said the interbank call money rates closed at 3.0 percent to 3.5 percent against 3.5-4.0 percent previously.-Reuter
