BEIJING: Chinese patriarch Deng Xiaoping was in "good health" on Tuesday, on his 91st birthday, foreign ministry spokesman Chen Jian said.

Asked to comment on Deng's condition, Chen told reporters that there was "at least one change - that he is a year older."

"He is in good health," Chen added.-AFP
