KTR recovers

Rs 346m in

August

KARACHI: Karachi Telecommunication Region (KTR) has recovered Rs 346 million, this month during its recovery campaign from telephone subscribers, including Government departments and private subscribers.

This was stated by Captain (Retd) Mohammad Zahir, General Manager, KTR-I, here on Monday. He said Rs 727 million were still outstanding against the telephone subscribers, of which Rs 300 million were against Government departments and Rs 427 million against private subscribers.

He said recovery campaign will continue till the recovery of all the arrears against telephone subscribers.

Captain Zahir said KTR has plan to undertake two new projects to improve telephone service for its subscribers.

He said Pakistan Telecommunication Corporation (PTC) has approved these new projects and tenders have been invited for the execution of work.

One of them is the improvement in telephone complaint number 18. He said a new Computerized Fault Management System (CFMS) will provide a one windown facility of complaint registration to telephone subscribers.

The subscribers will have to dial once for registering complaint of telephone faults and one complaint number will be valid until the fault is removed and the subscriber will not have to make frequent calls.

He said GM and DE telephones will monitor the daily report of complaints and removal of faults on their computer terminals.

The KTR will also expand the network of 17, by increasing terminals of Computerized Directory Assistance System (CDAS) from existing 56 to 120.

He said delay has been reduced at CDAS and any change in telephone number is adjusted at 17 with 72 hours.

PTC has 2.6 million subscribers all over Pakistan.-APP
