The two changes were in Kenyan dust plus C grade and C grade, higher by Rs 5 and Rs 6 respectively.
Powdered milk maintained its climb upwards in the wake of soaring prices in the countries of manufacture. Consumers, however, felt hurt as withdrawal of Sales Tax (ST) did not benefit them. PAPER MARKET
Business in paper market is not picking up for several months. Since sales have gone down due to rising trend in prices, investments have not been coming forth. Existing stocks are catering to the needs of the people. In the matter of newsprint a trader responded negatively on reports that the government will consider pleas of the consumers. However, kraft paper from Shanghai 30 27.5"x39.5" gained Rs 50, and 35"x47" was up by Rs 100. Newsprint 40"/20"x30" rose modestly by Rs 5.
