at Port Qasim

LAHORE: About 4000 tractors imported under the 'Green Tractors Scheme" were lying uncleared at Port Qasim, owing to poor law and order situation in Karachi.

According to ADBP sources, under the scheme, letter of credits were opened for 20,000 tractors out of which 10,000 were cleared but 4000 are lying stuck up at Port Qasim while the remaining are in process of shipment. He said for the speedy recovery of standing loan worth Rs 15 billion, government had established more banking tribunals."There is a proposal under which the time limit should be fixed for the banking tribunal to decide the fate of the cases," he added.-PPI
