Malakand elite
force to be raised
to maintain peace
PESHAWAR: The Inspector General of Police NWFP Syed Masud Shah has said that Provincial Government was planning to raise the Malakand Elite Force in order to maintain peace, tranquillity and brotherhood in Malakand Division.
This he said at a briefing held at CPO Peshawar regarding improvement of Police function and efficiency in any untoward incidents.
Present on the occasion were DIG Headquarters Sikander Muhammad Zai, DIG Special Branch, Malik Naveed Khan, DIG Malakand, Muhammad Sharif Virk, Commandant PTC Hangu, Khurshid Alam Khan.,DIG Telecommunication, Muhammad Azam Khan, AIG Traffic, Muhammad Akbar Khan Hoti, Deputy Commandant PTC Hangu, Tanveerul Haq Sepra and AIG C&W, Muhammad Manzoor.
Police Chief said that Chief Minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao was giving top priority to law and order and for this purpose necessary funds had been provided by the Provincial Government. He said, Police Force was being channelized and activated to combat anti-social elements and out-laws.
Syed Masud Shah directed all police officers to launch special campaigns against proclaimed offenders, arms and ammunition and narcotics. Special attention must be given to control aerial firing he directed. He also reviewed the progress achieved in this regard.
Syed Masud Shah also directed police officers to conduct meetings with people in order to redress their grievances.
The DIG Malakand, Muhammad Sharif Virk briefed the meeting about the Malakand Elite Force and law and order situation of the area.-APP
