China to send

relief goods for

flood victims

ISLAMABAD: The Government of the People's Republic of China has expressed its sympathy and condolences at the immense loss of life and property because of the recent floods in Pakistan and has announced a donation of Yuan 20,00,000/- worth of disaster relief goods, says a press release.

These goods, which are expected to include tents, blankets, medicines, water purification equipment and food items would be arriving very shortly. The relief items being provided by the People's Republic of China is yet another manifestation of the close friendly relations existing between the two countries.

An agreement for the supply of relief goods is being signed on Monday by the visiting Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan and Najmuddin A. Shaikh, Foreign Secretary.-APP
