Azfar visit
PEC: hails
performance
KARACHI: Governor of Sindh Kamal-Uddin-Azfar visited on Sunday at PIA Precision Engineering Complex (PEC) where he was informed that PEC has concluded contracts worth Rs 1247 million with domestic customers and Rs 578 million in foreign exchange with international customers.
Director precision engineering Air-Vice Marshal Sardar Khan while briefing the governor said that contracts worth Rs 4766 million and Rs 4832 million are under negotiations with domestic and international customers respectively.
The governor was highly impressed with the performance of PEC which has made a profit of Rs 308.06 million in 1994-95 as against Rs 146.46 million in 1993-94 about 210 percent increase. This profit he added, has been earned due to the hardwork and close cooperation of the officers and workers of the complex.
PEC has won the national award from science foundation for quality production in 1994.
Later Kamal Azfar visited various sections of the workshop in his remarks in the visitor book he said "I was delighted to see the most impressive achievements of the Precision Engineering Complex PIA. The standards achieved by this unit is a tribute to the able leadership of Air-Vice Marshal Sardar Khan and his workers.
"The PEC has indeed lived up to its motto 'quality is a way of life' and in the process set an example to the rest of the country and at the same time saved precious foreign exchange while contributing to self the self-reliance in defence of Pakistan."-PPI
