RECORDER REPORT
KARACHI: Prospects for Korean investment in Pakistan will be discussed during the four-day visit of a high-powered Korean delegation which is scheduled to fly into Karachi on August 27.
The 16-member delegation which will be headed by Park Se-yong, President, Hyundai Corporation and chairman, Korea-Pakistan Economic Coordination Committee, will included senior executives from leading Korean companies.
On August 29 the delegation will call on the Prime Minister of Pakistan at PM House in Islamabad.
During their stay the 6th joint meeting of Pakistan-Korea Economic Cooperation Committees will be held in Karachi on August 28. The same evening, the delegation will leave for Islamabad.
The Korean delegation will have a meeting with Mian Habibullah, Minister of State and Chairman, Export Promotion Bureau in Karachi to explore possibilities of promoting exports of Pakistani products to Korea. They will be given a complete run down on the current situation and future expectations of Pakistan from Korea in this regard.
High on agenda, is also a discussion on the question of promoting bilateral economic cooperation and trade and investment by Korean side.
The Pakistani side will identify key areas for Korean investment here. The delegation members would have individual meetings with businessmen at Federation House, besides visiting Export Processing Zone Authority (EPZA) and Port Qasim Authority (PQA).
