LAHORE: Some fireworks are likely to be witnessed when the Punjab Assembly meets for its requisitioned session on Sunday afternoon here at 4 pm for discussion on flood situation in the province.

After discussing flood situation on Sunday, the House will take up law and order on Monday, as per agreed agenda.

A number of privileges and adjournment motions will also be taken up on both days besides, question hour pertaining to education on first day and to irrigation on second day.

The session has been summoned by Speaker Mohammad Haneef Ramay on receipt of notice for requisitioning signed by 86 opposition members for discussing four points agenda topped by recent increase in power tariff and followed by flood situation in the province, price hike of essential articles and deteriorating law and order.

After meeting with opposition members, Speaker Ramay had agreed for discussion on two points only during the session which may not continue beyond Tuesday in any case.

Under the rules of procedure of the provincial assembly, the Speaker on receipt of notice for requisitioning has to summon P.A session within stipulated 14 days but this time, for the first time of all requisitioned sessions, Speaker Ramay hastened to summon the session very next day of receipt of the notice for August 20.
